ABIA STATE POLYTECHNIC COMMENCE ANOTHER STRIKE BECAUSE OF THE NONPAYMENT OF STAFF FOR OVER 8 MONTHS.

The Abia State Polytechnic, Aba is under lock as gates have been shut and classrooms locked against students of the institution as the institution begins another era of strike, Date 19th Dec., 2016.

The strike results as an internal action stemming from the nonpayment of staff salary accruing over 8 months. This has forced activities to be put on hold/pending, when the demands of the polytechnic staff are met and school reopened.

"The staff has been quiet enough and it is time we forced the hands of the government to come to us because they have long forgotten us. Although the school is generating regular income and has also placed a compulsory payment of school fees before writing exams, the institution could still not pay its workers"
