NIGERIA’S FIGHTER JETS FLY OVER JAMMEH’S HOME COUNTRY AS MORE TROOPS MOVE TO GAMBIA (PHOTOS)


The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) arrived in Dakar, Senegal, as a part of the ECOWAS Military Intervention in Gambia (ECOMIG).

Yahya Jammeh has refused to step down as the president of Gambia even though Adama Barrow has been sworn in as the new president of the country in Senegal.
In a statement released on its Facebook page, the NAF revealed that the army and the navy are expected to join them.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) contingent to the ECOWAS Military Intervention in Gambia (ECOMIG) arrived Dakar since yesterday while their army and naval counterparts are expected to join them today. In addition to yesterday’s deployment, two NAF C-130 aircraft today airlifted troops of the Nigerian Army and men of the Nigerian Navy Special Boat Services to Senegal. Meanwhile, NAF Alpha jets on reconnaissance flew over Gambia today.
"The aircraft were over the State House, Banjul International Airport (Yundum International), Denton bridge linking Banjul to the rest of Gambia and Kanilai – the home country of President Yahya Jammeh.”
